iOS app icon 1024x1024 generator
iOS App Icon 1024×1024 Generator
Generate a 1024×1024 iOS app icon from any image. Xcode-ready AppIcon.appiconset with Contents.json, all iPhone and iPad sizes, no signup, no upload.
About this tool
Since Xcode 14, Apple requires a single 1024×1024 pixel app icon and automatically generates every smaller size your app needs for iPhone, iPad and the App Store. This page exists because getting that one master icon right is still where most submissions fail: wrong size, flattened corners, or an alpha channel Apple will reject.
This generator takes any square image — PNG, JPG or WEBP at 1024×1024 or larger — and produces a proper 1024×1024 master icon plus a complete AppIcon.appiconset folder with a valid Contents.json, ready to drop into your Xcode project. Everything runs locally in your browser; your artwork never leaves your machine.

- Outputs the exact 1024×1024 master icon Xcode 14+ expects
- Generates a complete AppIcon.appiconset with Contents.json
- Includes 180×180, 120×120, 152×152 and other legacy sizes if you still target older Xcode
- Flattens transparency onto a solid background — Apple rejects icons with alpha channels
- Runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no account, no watermark
Who it's for
iOS developers, Flutter and React Native teams, and indie makers preparing an App Store submission who need a compliant 1024×1024 icon fast.
How to do it
- Export your artwork as a square PNG at 1024×1024 or larger (avoid fine text near the edges — iOS crops to a rounded rectangle).
- Open the app icon generator and upload the image.
- Pick iOS / Xcode export and download the ZIP.
- Drag the AppIcon.appiconset folder into your Xcode asset catalog and select it as the app icon in your target's Build Settings.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Apple want a 1024×1024 icon now?
Since Xcode 14, Apple builds every device size from one 1024×1024 master icon instead of requiring dozens of pre-sized PNGs. It keeps asset catalogs consistent and lets the App Store regenerate sizes automatically.
Will Xcode accept an icon with a transparent background?
No. App Store icons must not contain an alpha channel or transparency. The generator flattens any transparent pixels onto a solid background so validation passes.
Does the ZIP include a Contents.json?
Yes. The AppIcon.appiconset folder contains the icon images plus a valid Contents.json that Xcode recognizes immediately — no manual JSON editing.
What source image quality do I need?
Use at least 1024×1024 pixels. Larger images are resized down cleanly; smaller images will look soft on Retina screens and may fail App Store validation.
Can I use the same icon for the Play Store?
Google Play needs a separate 512×512 master icon, which this generator also produces in the Android export. Android allows flat PNGs but forbids transparent backgrounds too.
Is my artwork uploaded anywhere?
No. All resizing and packaging happens locally in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters if your icon is under NDA.
